I recently took another trip to Jamaica. My main goal was to be at the beach and get a tan. I brought all of my bathing suits plus some news ones I bought from Forever 21 and Etsy. I was surprised that I liked the bathing suits from Forever 21 more than the ones from Etsy because I was so excited to wear the ones that I purchased from Etsy because they had nice color coordination.
That being said take a look at some of the highlights from my trip.
Day 2 in the Caribbean and this top is from Forever 21, the top is actually an under boob bra, but I was scared that mine would slip out and I was not about to let that happen, so I pushed them in. The bottoms are old black bottoms I made in 2015.
In Negril… this bathing suit is from Etsy and it’s one of my favorites, accept these bottoms are supposed to be orange. I mixed up the bottoms by accident, but I loved this color. The top was really cute and the fit was perfect.
This one piece is from Forever 21 and I love the color. I actually have never worn a one piece (thottie behavior) and this one was all in my crack. I guess it’s supposed to be like that because there was no way around it, I still enjoyed the bathing suit. The material was thick, yet it dried really fast. The white stuff on my body is limestone, it’s good for the skin, and helps with mosquito bites, which I had plenty of.
This is just a cute off guard photo of me drinking a Magnum. It’s a tonic wine from Jamaica. It contains 16.7% alcohol, with vitamins and iron. How about that for a drunken weekend? You get to get lit and healthy all at once. 🙃 This photo was taken at a river in Montego Bay. Such a lovely place, very tranquil.
This bathing suit was from Etsy. These are the correct bottoms for this two piece. I actually didn’t love this once I put it on. Although I tried it on before. I just didn’t love it. The top is another under boob top and I couldn’t control my boobs in this top because the bottom has very little reinforcement to keep them from falling out… I liked it and would possibly wear it again. This was taken at a marina like beach, (it had no sand), and the view was lovely.
This is my favorite bathing suit. It’s a nice brown tone, it’s a little textured, and the straps are asymmetrical which was cool. This was at a beach in Ocho Rios where the sand was black… if you write on the sand it shows black. You can see the black a little bit, look left of the picture where the water has washed ashore. It was pretty cool to me.
I made suspenders a few months ago and showcased them in at Dunn’s River Falls… a beautiful waterfall in Ocho Rios. The water was everything, not salty or too cold. I wore my suspenders with one strap because it was more comfortable and it looked better.
Whippin in the kitchen. I made this dress in June, short dress, perfect for the weather out there. I was in the kitchen learning how to make calaloo. My favorite side 🥰 it tastes a little like mustard greens, with seasonings and scotch bonnet peppers (just a hint). This is a secret lil recipe, so I’m not giving the exact details. Just know that calaloo is amazing.
Here’s a photo of the calaloo that was made with some fried dumplings. It was sooo flavorful and I savored every bite. I’m currently looking to grow my own calaloo plants because that’s how good this plant is. 😋
This top goes with the black bottoms in the first photo, and the orange bottoms goes with the top in the second photo. Since I already mixed it up, I figured that I would just keep wearing the bathing suits that I didn’t wear.
I barely wore any of my outfits that I brought because I was so busy trying to be a mermaid. 🤷🏽♀️ I mean a girl can only dream. I love the water, but I can’t swim to save my life or anyone else’s. This photo was taken in Lucea, it’s another marina and the current was sooo beautiful.
This is an old dress I made a few years ago. This view was to die for, so peaceful and serene. I can’t wait to go back!
I did so much that I can’t fit it all on this post, but the highlight for me was the beach because in my past life I had to be a mermaid or whale. 🤷🏽♀️
I hope you enjoyed reading this blog and the photos as much as I enjoyed taking them and sharing with you all.
Asè and have a great day. Thanks for reading!
